Dao/Yao Wedding Headcloth
Made with loving care, this headcloth was worn by a Yao/Dao bride as the final layer on an elaborate wedding headdress. Embroidery is in silk and cotton on a background of handwoven cotton dyed with dark indigo. Silk tassels and pompoms accent the corners. This older piece is in quite good condition. Mid-20th century. Similar cloths are also used in Guangxi Province, China.
