Karen Man’s Tunic
Made for a Pwo Karen man by his wife, this tunic was crafted with much love. The weaving comprises fine, colorful bands of stripes in the warp, balanced by traditional bright red in between. Horizontal bands of thicker yarn, in decorative designs, have been woven as weft in several areas. Fine braiding at the neck opening, along with short fringe and pom poms complete this magnificent example. Condition is excellent. Could be worn or displayed. We rarely see such exhuberant examples of men’s tunics.
Size: 24 in. h. (including fringe) x 23 in. w.
