Tai Silk Tubeskirt
This unusual ‘phaa sin’ is probably from a Lao or Khmer group in either NE Thailand or Laos. With a lattice pattern in four color ikat, plus a fine two-color, twisted weft stripe, and a fine twill weave, it is a model of refinement and skilled weaving. The use of colors is also unusual with a soft yellow contrasted by dark reddish brown, and accents of light green and soft red. Condition is good, with a few holes near the seam at the top.
