Hmong/Miao Bib/Apron Panel
From Nayong, in Guizhou province, this short panel was worn as a sort of bib/apron and is similar in style of embroidery to TACH397,398 and 399. This one has finely handspun indigo cotton in the central area, flanked by finely embroidered panels engagingly depicting flowers and birds in a thickly layered satin stitch. The flowers petals are built up in satin stitch and have become three-dimensional. All embroidery is fine silk on cotton. No ties remain on this one, though condition is very good, with minimal surface soil.
