Skein Winder
Used all over SE Asia in a similar form, this tool takes up the thread coming off a spinning wheel, collecting it into a skein so that it can be dyed or stored. This particular one is nicely carved and probably comes from Cambodia or southern Laos. Carved ones like this are becoming harder to find. These look great as a textile hanger, mounted on a wall in an ‘H’ configuration. Mid-late 20th cent.
