‘Palad Khik’ Tree
This small tree is an assemblage of phallic branches which have been embellished with paint, gold leaf, and strips of cloth. The base has ‘gatha’/blessings written by a spirit master and are to bring luck and prosperity. This one came from a shop where it was displayed with other talismans for the attraction of business and prosperity. From northern Thailand; late 20thc-early 21stc. We rarely see these available for purchase.
