Palad Khik ‘Phra Ngan’
Made of dark, cast brass, this small, modern palad khik depicts a strange little elfin figure without legs, leaning back on its elbows, but with an oversized phallus. This figure is known as ‘Phra Ngan’ and is an aberration originating from mis-cast Buddha images made during the wars in the Ayutthaya period. It is considered an effective provider of luck in a short period when used properly. Its horn-like hat forms a ring for wearing on a chain or cord.
