Loom Pulley

Elegantly shaped and finely carved on both sides, this exemplifies the refined level these simple ‘tools’ can achieve. Some vestiges of black and red lacquer remain, as well as two small pieces of mirrored glass, which probably filled in the background. The carving depicts lotus flowers with leaves intertwined around them, and is different on each side. This is a beautiful object and not to be found easily. A custom made iron stand is included.
