Strung on a handsome macrame cord, the many magic charms here have been collected to provide the wearer with good fortune and protection. Such charms include: ‘takruts’ (rolled sheets of copper or brass with blessings written by spirit master), ‘palad khik’ phallic talismans of special wood and with written blessings, magic stones, a ‘singh’ figure with magic oil encased in plastic, along with other amulets, all imbued with personal meaning – 22 pieces total. It is from a monk who wore it after leaving monkhood; northern Thailand; late 20thc/early 21stc.
