Ceremonial Comb from Sumba
From the island of Sumba in Indonesia, combs called ‘hai kara jangga’ are worn by girls of marriageable age at village ceremonies. This one is smaller than most and is made from one segment of a sea turtle shell. Beautifully decorated with cutouts of stylized roosters, crocodiles, and a skull tree, it is in excellent condition with no broken or repaired teeth and includes a custom-made metal stand.
