Batak Medicine Horn from Sumatra
This attractive container from the Batak in northern Sumatra was probably used for medicine. It is made of real horn, possibly from an antelope-like animal, and has a stopper of wood, capped with carved bone in the form of two figures. The tip of the horn has been carved as a figurehead.
